Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel as the full name of its next Elder Scrolls game on November 3, 2026. The studio named the game in an official video and the text below it.
The announcement gives the project a name eight years after its first public reveal. However, it brings no release date, according to Thurrott, which reported on the new trailer.
What the Elder Scrolls VI reveal confirms
Bethesda’s video description names Sentinel as the next journey to Tamriel, the series’ fictional world. Xbox Wire also lists the new title and shows its artwork.
The text includes a passage from the game’s fiction. It names Yazar as its speaker, a Moth Priest who serves High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell. It dates his words to 4E 206, a year in that fictional world. That date does not refer to the game’s launch.
The mention of Hammerfell leaves the game’s setting and playable regions unconfirmed, according to iHeartGeek’s report. That report also says the video provides no platform list, price or gameplay demonstration.
From the 2018 teaser to Sentinel
Xbox Wire’s original E3 2018 recap described the first teaser, which showed a logo and a view of Tamriel with music. Bethesda announced the project alongside Starfield, with no release dates for either game at that stage.
Xbox Wire also shared a separate video to mark Bethesda’s 40th anniversary on the day of the name reveal. Players still lack a date to plan for. Which platforms will run the game also remains unclear in Thurrott’s report. According to Thurrott, Bethesda has not yet shared a release date.
