Twelve Ukrainian drone manufacturers presented their technology to British companies, investors and military representatives at Larkhill Garrison on Salisbury Plain. The UK Ministry of Defence reported the event on 30 October 2026. The meeting aimed to explore joint development, investment and industrial cooperation.
Ukrainian drone manufacturers meet potential partners
The programme included uncrewed systems for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as autonomous technologies. According to the ministry, the solutions drew on experience from combat operations in Ukraine. Demonstrations took place alongside discussions between developers, prospective partners and military users.
Brigadier Stu Nasse, who leads the Drone Capability Coalition and serves in the leadership of the UK’s Uncrewed Systems Centre, emphasised the importance of connecting government, industry and the military earlier. The ministry presented the event as a way to feed operational experience into further development.
However, the announcement did not provide a combined value for signed contracts, numbers of drones ordered or a delivery timetable. Technology demonstrations and investment discussions therefore should not be described as the announcement of a specific new military procurement deal. The release sets out the purpose of the meeting, rather than a completed purchasing programme.
Cooperation under an existing partnership
The meeting follows the UK–Ukraine 100 Year Partnership signed on 16 January 2025. The agreement establishes a long-term framework covering defence and other areas of bilateral relations. The October showcase is one practical activity within that existing partnership.
The UK’s support-to-Ukraine factsheet describes nine principal areas of the partnership, including defence and security, science and technology, and the economy and trade. It also refers to an agreement dated 23 June 2025 on sharing battlefield technology to support British production of drones for Ukraine.
These longer-term agreements describe the framework and objectives of cooperation. They do not, by themselves, identify which projects presented at Larkhill will enter joint development or production. The ministry’s announcement does not yet give concrete details of those outcomes or their scale.
